This is the renewal invitation for Curio.ca, News in Review, and L'Actualité en revue, for the period September 1, 2015 through to August 31, 2016. There is also a new offer for National Geographic in French.
Pricing for Curio.ca is based on the total number of FTEs across the participating universities and colleges - in the current subscription period, we are at 529,284 FTEs so the current price is 40 cents per FTE. News in Review and L'Actualité en revue are $0.05/FTE.
This offer is currently being offered to academic libraries. A separate offer will be sent for public libraries.
This is a Consortia Canada negotiated product, led by BCI.
Three different products are available.
Curio.ca offers access to thousands of programs and documentaries - the best audio and video content CBC and Radio-Canada has to offer. English and French-language content is included, the website is updated weekly - there is no advertising - via an educational streaming platform. To aid in searching, broad categories (art, business, current events, law, education, health, history and geography, sciences, social sciences...) have been established and the website can be searched for specific programs, themes, etc. to locate exactly what a professor or student needs. The website is tailored to teaching needs : professors can elect to set up their own profile and prepare program lists for courses, if desired.

2. News in Review / L'Actualite in Review
This is Canada's premier current-event series for the classroom. It's the only resource that gives your students the opportunity to delve into today's most important events as they unfold. Complex international, national and regional stories are broken down and given context. Diverse communities and divergent interests are given a voice.Top 4 CBC News stories every month, from September through April...Each month our team of experienced CBC News producers and high school teachers hones in on the top 4 news stories and crafts a 15-minute documentary for each -- drawing on news reports from recent months. Host Michael Serapio offers commentary that provides important background info and links.And don't forget the classroom-ready guides...Each story comes with a teacher resource guide. Developed by high school teachers, the guides tease out key concepts and questions to help your students develop a well-trained eye and ear for what matters...a vital skill for tomorrow's voters.
3. National Geographic (in French)
Late subscriptions are permitted, and their pro-rated pricing will be based on the cents/FTE for the main subscription to Curio.ca. Late subscriptions to News in Review/L'Actualité en revue are also permitted.
If you would like to subscribe or cancel a subscription, please respond with your decision to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than Tuesday, June 23, 2015.
New subscribers will be sent a subscribers’ agreement shortly. You are asked to fax a signed copy at your earliest convenience. This subscriber’s agreement will permit TAL to renew automatically for future renewals.
