Please find below resource(s) available for Renewal
Renewal pricing for ACM Digital Library is now ready.
This is primarily for one year renewals as this is year two of a three-year agreement covering the period July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2018. Year two of three renewals will be processed automatically.
For the purposes of this entry in the database, the dates are set for 2016-2017 since - in both the second and third years - there will be an annual renewal offer for any institution electing to renew/participate at the 1-year level.
ACM Digital Library is a joint TAL/Consortia Canada license, led by the Bureau de cooperation interuniversitaire (BCI).
Beginning in 2015, ACM simplified its pricing structure and has moved from the old 7-tier pricing schedule to a new 3-tier format. As of July 2015, each institution's tier profile has been calculated based on their reported 2014 usage. Price increases vary as a result.
The ACM Digital Library is licensed as an annual subscription via the World Wide Web - the product includes access to all ACM journals, magazines, Transactions, proceedings and ACM SIG newsletters. The Online guide to Computing Literature available for free in Digital Library.
Usage Statistics: ACM's pricing model for non-US participants is based in part on usage levels. ACM has instituted an automatic system whereby usage outside of their pre-set levels generates an automatic email to the institution (and to the chief negotiator). It is very important that each institution keep track of any such anomalies which may be due to data mining (which is not permitted) or excessive downloading, as this has an impact on an institution's tier placement and pricing. Please note that in any given year, less than 5 such anomalies are generally reported. In 2015, almost 20 were reported in the period January-February and, in 2016, the same trend is underway with a fair number of anomalies being reported.
Any print subscriptions will be handled individually by the institution who will contact ACM Member Service. For institutions participating in a consortia purchase of ACM's Digital Library, ACM's print packages are available at a reduced price of 25% off list price. The purchase of these print packages is available to institutions directly through ACM, and will not be administered by the consortium. Please note that this reduced pricing for print applies to any new or renewed print subscriptions ordered during the consortia purchase. As stated on the ACM website, please note that in addition to online access, each consortium receives one entire subscription set of the print version of all journals, magazines, proceedings and ACM SIG Newsletters.
As the 8 participating Canadian consortia are considered as one consortium by ACM, this single copy was being sent to University of Alberta. As of December 2015, no print copies are being sent to any participating institution.
Mid-term joins may be accepted.
If you wish to join, change or cancel a subscription, please contact Christine Loo by Wednesday May 18, 2016.
Institutions that are entering year two of a three year agreement will be invoiced according to the pricing attached. No response is required.
Current one year subscribers will be renewed if cancellation notice is not received by May 18.
