TAL is once again sending out this annual ebook offer for the purchase of EBSCO ebooks with perpetual access (no subscription and no annual fees). This is open to all TAL members.
This is a joint TAL/BC ELN/COPPUL/MLCI offering. BC ELN is the lead. Each purchase from these western province consortia will count towards participation and determine the final discount.
There are 518,000 eBooks eligible for the consortium discount based on library participation. Audiobooks are not eligible for the discount this year.
Please find below links to the title lists that are eligible for the consortium offer.
BONUS OFFER: EBSCO is currently running promotions for Cambridge Scholars Publishing and Information Age Publishing where the Unlimited User price is the same price as the One User model (a 50% discount). If a member library purchases the Unlimited User model for either of these publishers they would be an additional consortia discount, pending participation.
Selectors can browse and select titles in ECM. If unsure of your ECM account or if it is active, contact Robin Corder (email@example.com) for a new password.
A new feature since last year is the estimated currency value for each title. The USD price will appear but for budgeting purposes, libraries can opt to show the estimated Canadian Dollar value.
You can build a list though ECM and then export the list for purchase. In this case however, you cannot purchase the titles directly through ECM if you want to participate in the consortia offer. The discount will not be applied for orders placed within ECM, GOBI or OASIS. The order must be sent to TAL to get the TAL discount.
Tip: You can save time by using the Subject Sets to make your own list(s) for purchasing. Keep in mind when browsing Subject Sets that it’s possible to purchase a single title, all titles, or any number in between.
Late joins will not be accepted.
Please send order in the form of an excel spreadsheet to Christa Foley by March 7, 2018. Please ensure the access level is noted.
The orders will then be sent to EBSCO and the final discount will then be communicated to members.
