This is a new TAL offering for Slice Fractions from Ululab, a Quebec based vendor. This was a resouce identified in the TAL Licensing Plan.
This is a game for children to assist with learning fractions.
From the vendor:
We produce educational apps that feel like games for kids, but actually improves their intuitions about the most important subjects in mathematics. Research from our university partners show that playing a few hours of these games can have drastic impact on counter-intuitive subjects such as fractions. While the apps have been popular on the app stores as they were featured by Apple (Editor’s Choice) and Google, some kids that might need these apps the most won’t necessarily get access. Our aim while working with libraries is to democratize access to all families that don’t have access to tablets for their kids. The games are available as online apps for PC and Mac.
You can view our previous webinar, which describes Slice Fractions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZ-czJBP6rQ&feature=youtu.be
We are now offering Slice Fractions 1, 2, and our two upcoming apps, code named “Math Time”, through a single subscription. The upcoming apps follow a similar design to Slice Fractions but tackle other key, counterintuitive math subjects such as place value and numeracy, for 1st and 2nd grade students.
To join this new subscription, please contact Christa Foley by Tuesday, June 30, 2020. A subscriber agreement will be sent for signing. This will allow plenty of time for set up.
