Please find below resource(s) available for Renewal
Renewal pricing for Project MUSE is now available. The early deadline is needed to meet the vendor's renewal deadline.
Pricing is for academic libraries. This year, we have been provided with renewal pricing but not an updated price grid so pricing for new subscribers is available upon request.
For 2020, MUSE’s Premium Collection will increase 5%; the other five MUSE journal collection prices will increase 3% or less.
This is a Consortia Canada offering; TAL is the lead.
From the vendor:
We continue to moderate our price increases to the lowest possible levels while still allowing for the growth of content on MUSE and necessary development and support of the platform to ensure we continue to meet industry standards and customer expectations. With over 700 high-quality scholarly journals now available on our platform, and the addition since 2012 of nearly 57,000 university and scholarly press books, MUSE operates with effectively the same staffing levels as we did five years ago, and continues to return the vast majority of our revenue (over 70%) to our participating not-for-profit publishers, allowing them to remain viable and independent. For 2020, MUSE’s Premium Collection will see a 5% increase, with the other five MUSE journal collection price increases at 3% or less.
Additional Journals for 2020
MUSE is pleased to announce four new journals confirmed to join our online collections for 2020, with at least eleven more expected to be confirmed shortly. A list of all new journals confirmed to date, along with other collection content updates, may be found at https://about.muse.jhu.edu/librarians/journal-title-upgrades. This list will be updated as more new titles are confirmed.
New Library Administrative Dashboard
We have launched a new library administrative dashboard, offering one-stop access to a number of useful tools for libraries to manage their MUSE holdings. Along with our standard COUNTER 5 compliant usage statistics reports, library customers are able to download customized metadata (MARC records, KBART, title lists) for all their MUSE products, along with metadata for open access content on MUSE if desired. The dashboard is also available for users to submit IP address changes, updates to Open URL and proxy settings, and request changes to how their name is displayed on our website.

MUSE routinely makes available new materials that libraries may download or order at no charge for use in sharing information with their user populations. Subscribing libraries are encouraged to bookmark and visit often our “For Librarians” page (http://muse.jhu.edu/about/librarians/index.html) to access tools such as usage statistics and holdings downloads, view available training resources, sign up for our e-newsletter, and submit requests for free instructional and promotional materials.
Update on OA Content on MUSE
We have expanded our book collection to include several hundred fully open access books from numerous distinguished scholarly publishers. We anticipate hosting hundreds more through initiatives including the NEH Humanities Open Book program, Knowledge Unlatched, TOME, Mellon grants and other publisher and institution driven programs. Books are available in a highly discoverable, adaptable format using HTML5, rather than static PDF’s and include free MARC and KBART records. https://about.muse.jhu.edu/muse/open-access-overview/
Late joins accepted and will be pro-rated.
Please contact Christa Foley if you wish to join, change or cancel a subscription by Thursday, September 26, 2019. Current subscriptions will be renewed automatically if cancellation notice is not provided by September 26.
