CAN-CORE is a streaming video platform for academic libraries, offering 100% Canadian content. The collection includes subjects ranging from Arts, Business and Communication, Science, Mathematics and Technology, Social Sciences, Academic and Career skills, Health and Medicine, and Trades.
CAN-CORE Post-Secondary has been designed for Canadian faculty, university and college students. It's like no other streaming platform. 100% Canadian-produced content. Thousands of segments & full programs. Featuring quality product from some of Canada's best producers. Stunning footage unearths our landscape, environment and ecological diversity. Investigative journalism delves into current events. Historically accurate segments explore our colourful heritage, culture and traditions. Medical and health experts examine the latest findings and research.
Easy to use searchable educational content platform. Closed-captioning and interactive transcripts are available on many titles.
Significant content has been added. Pricing has increased as expected. Last year, current subscribers were told to expect a 3% increase this year.
The subscription cycle changed last year and it is now June 1 - May 31.
The Can-Core platform has under gone a number of changes. The Can-Core Post Secondary platform is being re-named Can-Core Academic Video and there will be a new look that incorporates responsive design. Page load speeds will be significantly improved and the platform will be mobile device friendly.
Presently there are over 1800 full videos and over 4500 segments with more content being added each week.
The Indigenous Content filter automatically brings up over 202 full videos and over 400 segments.
Institutions that license content from McIntyre and access them through the Playlist can now make the Playlists discoverable in the Can-Core platform.
The Staff Picks slider on the home page can be customised by the institution to highlight content they would like to feature.

New for 2020: Currently the platform contains over 90% Canadian content. Almost 15% of the platform is Indigenous content that can be searched across all subject areas. We have been adding some great documentary content from such well known producers as Video Project and Passion River Films as well as many other Canadian producers.
