TAL’s new governance structure is in place and the Board of Directors (formally the Executive Committee) has its first meeting on September 12, 2017.
At the AGM on April 21, 2017, TAL Members approved a special resolution to allow for critical changes to TAL’s governance structure, moving us from a Board with 49 directors (a director for each TAL member) to a representative Board of 10 directors, who are elected by our members.
The amended Articles of Association were received back from Service Alberta on September 8th.
This is a historic achievement that accomplishes one of the initiatives within TAL’s strategic plan to reform TAL’s governance to meet the strategy to: Strengthen the consortium with structures and practices that serve its members, position it to seize opportunities, and plan for future challenges. TAL’s new governance model matches our operating environment where change is constant, windows of opportunity short-lived, and decisive immediate direction essential.
The Board of Directors will meet no less than 8 times per year. A list of the Directors of the Board can be found here: TAL Board of Directors
We are excited about the changes that this will bring to TAL, and look forward to bringing you better service than ever before!
