With participation in this program, libraries will gain access to over 5,800 titles from the SAGE Knowledge Complete Collection of Books, Reference and Navigator 2021 for a 12-month period. After this period, the library will then choose which titles to own in perpetuity!.
With this EBA program there are no purchase triggers. All titles offer unlimited simultaneous user access, are DRM-free at the chapter-level, and allow for free access to alumni. The EBA program from SAGE is the most cost effective solution that not only provides libraries with access to the gold standard social science eBook/eReference collection, but also provides a program that eliminates researcher turnaways.
The current EBA participants should already have received emails from SAGE about selecting titles (please let me know if you have not been contacted).
For current subscribers, SAGE works with institutions to supply title level statistics to help them identify the titles to add to their perpetual collection to the value of their EBA contribution before their term ends. Additional purchases are also possible. SAGE will provide detailed title usage analysis 2 months prior to the end of the access period for reference when selecting your titles. Usage may be pulled by the institution at any time via your SAGE customer account, SecureCenter.
This is a joint BC ELN, COPPUL, TAL offering. COPPUL is the lead.
Year 2 of 3 new ramp-up tiered pricing. New 3 year pricing started last year and means that renewing schools prices will be lower due to the new tier structure.
New joins will start at the tier below their FTE level for the first 2 years of participation. For year 3 forward, they will be at their correct tier pricing.
Pricing will be held flat for the next 2 years 2022, 2023. Members do not need to commit for the 3 years – it is still an annual renewal.
A note about the 2022 titles available: The 2022 Sage Knowledge ebook list is attached. There was a change to this years Sage Knowledge list that members should be aware of. There was a collection (about 600) of titles that were known as Navigator titles. These titles are abstract & index and not officially an “ebook”, they are titles that delve into subject specific topics and then offer links out to other content. Due to the advancement in discovery services and temperamental links, these titles were removed from the Sage Knowledge offerings. It appears many of these titles were not being used and caused more user frustration than anything.

Then, consult your usage report to finalize a customized package purchase no later than 30 days after your trial end date. Spend your deposit on the content you need and want. No hosting fees apply for the trial period. The prepaid price is then to be spent to purchase titles at the end of the EBA term. Schools have access to detailed statistics to decide what titles they want to purchase. The EBA differs from a DDA because it isn’t a usage trigger that determines the purchase of a book; librarians make the final decision what will be purchased. Use this pre-paid fund to purchase titles or collections, based on usage, of your choosing. Only the deposit amount worth of books needs to be purchased. The discount on titles is a minimum 10% discount (and increases depending on TAL, ELN, COPPUL participation).
There are over 5,500 titles available from Complete Books, Reference, and Navigator Collection. The title list is available at https://coppul.ca/resources/1354
New subscribers welcome. Late joins will be pro-rated.
