Millet Public Library (Member of Yellowhead Regional Library)

Fom Millet Public Library

Here is a brief overview of our partnership with the Food bank if you would like to pass on.  I have included a picture for you of a kit to see what we are doing.  If other libraries are looking for details let me know.

Millet Public Library serves a community of 2000 residents and has a very successful afterschool and summer program for the children of our community.  It is the Millet Public Library’s goal to continue to provide our after-school program in a safe way to our local children.  We decided to approach the Millet Food Bank as they are providing an essential service to our community members and we would not be encouraging anyone to leave their home.

A relationship already exists between the Millet Public Library and the Millet Food Bank as we run a program called “Food for Fines” together each year.  We decided to partner with them again and offer used books for adults and children as well as sealed afterschool program kits to be put in the appropriate hampers of those who use their services.  We are currently creating two afterschool program kits, each week, geared toward kindergarten to grade 5 children.
