Calgary Herald Archive has been set up!

Thursday, April 2, 2020

The Alberta Library is pleased to announce that access to the Calgary Herald Archive has been set up!

Access is for TAL members and also any person in Alberta.  There are two ways to access the content:

  • From the ProQuest platform, as you already access your resources.
  • From the landing page set up by ProQuest.  This is the way the general public may access the resources without going through the library webpages.  The URL for access is:  https://go.proquest.com/AlbertaHistoricalNewspapers/

For access from your ProQuest account, you will need to go into your ProQuest admin account to turn on the access, as you do for new ProQuest resources.  Please contact ProQuest tech support if you require assistance.   https://support.proquest.com/

Training Webinars

Training Webinars have been arranged for staff to attend.  Please feel free to share with members of your institution.  They will be recorded for those unable to attend.  Just click the appropriate link to register.

Promotion Material
Here is a link to the brochure ProQuest created:
 https://www.sc.pages04.net/lp/43888/593458/5722-5726-6110-%20Jan2020_Alb...
They did not mention the Calgary Herald explictly in the heading, I think with the intention this could be used if the Edmonton Journal is added later.
This is the link to the ProQuest Historical Newspaper LibGuide which has additional resources for you that may be of interest:
