The Alberta Library is governed by a 10-person Board of Directors that represents TAL's 48 members. The work of the Board of Directors is assisted by the following committees:

  • Licensing Service Committee: Provides leadership and direction for TAL's licensing program, with specific emphasis on the TAL Universal Core initiative.
  • Nominations/Elections Standing Committee: Brings forward the names of members willing to stand for nomination to the Board of Directors. Conducts the election of the Board of Directors at the AGM.
  • Revenue Generation Working Group: Investigates and recommends opportunites to generate revenue to further enhance and support TAL operations, programs, and services to the Board of Directors.
  • Risk Management Committee: Identifies current and potential future risk exposure to develop a risk management policy as well as a plan including strategies to manage risk.
