Renee brings her years of experience as TAL's Finance Manager and her accountant's eye for detail and measurables to her current role as Acting CEO. She leverages TAL's strengths and resources to build strong relationships and bring valuable resources to all TAL members.
Bethany works with the Online Reference Centre and the Licensing Department to bring vital databases, resources, and programs to TAL members and school librarians. Bethany recently completed her MLIS degree at the University of Alberta, where she successfully defended her thesis on Young Adult literature and social media use.
Tina has been diligently tending TAL's administrative business for 10 years, and is our combined archive and oracle. Tina has a Certificate in Management Development from the University of Alberta. She enjoys traveling (especially to visit her baby granddaughter in England) and handcrafting amazing greeting cards.
Jamie brings Learn Alberta’s Online Resource Centre to life with her expert evaluation and selection of databases and resources that support the Alberta curriculum. Her training and support services help school and public librarians make the most of the ORC. In her off hours, she enjoys reading to and playing with her young son.
Melissa contributes to the overall success of the organization by effectively managing all financial tasks for the organization. This encompasses compiling the annual budget and monthly financial statements, reporting directly to the Acting CEO.
Christa has been TAL’s licensing guru for 10 years, teleporting in from her home base in northern Ontario via the magic of the Internet. She enjoys negotiating excellent discounts for TAL members, participating in Consortia Canada, and hiking and discovering hidden beaches along Lake Superior.
Brian works with TAL's membership to share resources through the province wide discovery system TAL Online, offsite authentication and other projects. He loves working with the amazing library staff across Alberta and Canada to come up with creative solutions to further enhance library service throughout the province.
Lauren manages TAL’s communication and marketing activities. She’s on a mission to get TAL members the information they need to take full advantage of TAL’s services, while creating an engaged and active community along the way. She likes doing push-ups behind her desk when wrestling with especially vexing communiques.
